Girly Scurry: Workout

They call this a split rail fence but really it’s an original mouse jungle gym. There are so many spaces for me to scurry through and hide. I guess there are so many around Yorktown because they were easy for early settlers to make and there were lots of early mice that needed places to play.

Girly Scurry: Rock and Roll?

My suitcase adventure taught me to appreciate new smells and the smell of this fresh ocean air is amazing but the birds around here can be a bit loud and I get scared as they get close. As I scurried out here on this rock, it rolled a little and I thought I was going over the edge into the water below. I never really understood what the term “rock and roll” meant till now.

Girly Scurry: Lots of water

It’s a nice evening and as I look out toward the water I see what looks like the edge of the world. I have heard that there was a time people thought the world was flat and seeing this I can certainly understand why.

Girly Scurry: Yorktown Adventure

On this adventure I went back to see some of the sights of my early ancestors. It was here at Yorktown, Virginia where ships full of supplies (and mice) used to come in the early days of America. I do not understand the markings on this sign but I sure do enjoy the view from up here.

Bucky Scurry: Hiding in plain site

So, I'm trying to figure out how I can catch some sleep and hide, and I think I've figured out how to do it.  What do you think?  Have I succeeded in camoflauge?

Bucky Scurry: Wishing I could learn to drive

I wish I were older; I really want to learn how to drive a car.  My buddy Andy is learning how to drive a car; it's cool.  Maybe some day, I'll get to be behind the wheel rather than on the dashboard.

Bucky Scurry: Now I'm being dragged to meetings

And they're so boring.  How do adults stand it?

Bucky Scurry: Back in Hampton Roads!

Back in Hampton Roads.  Check out the Norfolk skyline across the Elizabeth River.  Cool, eh?

Bucky Scurry: Headed home

I get to travel business class.  I'm a business mouse, but I like the extras we get in business class.

Girly Scurry: To Bucky

Hey Bucky. I'm about to take another trip. Can you guess what mode of travel I'm going to use?

Bucky Scurry: What a strange place

It's a beautiful day here.  I have to say, however, that I don't quite get it.There's lots of people walking around and they're all wearing the same type of clothes.  Blue.  What's the deal with that?

Bucky Scurry: Dinner at Chilis

Dinner last night was great.  I had the cajun chicken sandwich and fries.  It was good, but I didn't have any money to pay for the meal, but the waiter was nice about it.

Bucky Scurry: The train is so much fun

I had a great time on the train. It was cool; I got a chance to walk up and down the aisle. I walked the whole length of the train.

Girly Scurry - Home Sweet Home?

I woke up this morning and saw light for the first time in a few days. Unfortunately I was back in the same room that I was in when I jumped in the suit case. I did not see much during this adventure but I would still say it was an "eye opening" experience. This world is full of such interesting sounds and smells.

Toby Scurry goes to NYC

I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to write about my trip. After a good night's rest in the hotel, I went to the Empire State Building and Central Park.

There was lightning and thunder when I was on the observation deck on the Empire State Building. It scared me more than the neighbor's cat!

Girly Scurry: Where am I?

Hi it’s me Girly Scurry. I heard some people around me say they were headed on a big trip that was going to be a great adventure and I got really excited to go with them. I really wanted to go but they said they could not take me so I jumped in one of their bags while they were packing. I’m not quite sure where I am exactly but it has been a great adventure with all sorts of different sounds. Right now all I hear is a constant whining sound that seems to have gone on for hours. I hope I can tell you more about this adventure later.

Bucky Scurry: I'm about to be a traveling boy

I'm going on a trip tomorrow. Can you tell what mode of travel I'm going to use?

Bucky Scurry: The Men-in-Black headquarters in Hampton Roads

Check it out.  This is the MiB headquarters here in Hampton Roads.  This is a secret, though, so don't tell anyone.
I think I could be a Man-in-Black.  I'd look great in a black suit; I think it would go well with my eyes, don't you think.  That would be cool, saving the world and catching aliens.

Girly Scurry: Maze?

Today I visited this big building with lots of people running through the simplest maze I have ever seen. Some of the people pushed things that had squeaky wheels as they scrambled in and out of straight narrow rows. Get this all the rows were connected by a wider row at each end. The most confusing thing about this maze is trying to figure out just what the point of running it is. There were lots of good smells and the best thing is that I found lots of cheese, think I'm going to visit quite often.

Buck Scurry: My new computer, a Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad

I got a really cool new computer so I can keep up with blogging my adventures.  Cool, eh?
Where do you think I ought to try and go?

Bucky Scurry: At the nTelos Pavilion in Portsmouth

I wanted to see Crosby, Stills, and Nash last week here at the nTelos Pavilion, but I couldn't get a ticket, and when I tried to slip through the fence, a security guard came after me.  Lucky for me, I was able to get away.

Girly Scurry: Too close for comfort

I went outside to play with some other Scurries and had quite an adventure. As we were running around some trees in the park, we came face to face with a big scary cat. The only way for us to escape was to hide. I guess I must have jumped to get up here but I'm really going to have to use my head to figure out how to get down.

Bucky Scurry: Happy Birthday to the U.S. Coast Guard

Today is the birthday of the United States Coast Guard.  They trace their founding to August 4th, 1790.  That's a long time, isn't it?
I got a chance to visit the home of the Atlantic Area and the Fifth District.  Boring, actually.  Next time I want to go see a boat or a cutter.  Please.

Bucky Scurry: Time to go to the dentist

Hey, everybody.  I went to the dentist today.  No cavities!  Be sure you brush your teeth twice a day.  And don't forget to floss.

Bucky Scurry: Visiting the rescue squad

Today I went to the rescue squad and saw the ambulances and had a chance to talk to the paramedics. It was fun.  I got to see where they treat people who are sick or injured.  I had fun. Maybe when I grow up, I can be a paramedic.

Girly Scurry: Leaving on a Jet Plane

Went to the airport to see a couple of my family members off to start what I am sure will be some incredible adventures. It is sad to see them go but having this blog to keep in touch and share our experiences will be really cool.

Bucky Scurry: The Adventure Begins

I have finally arrived here in Hampton Roads. Hampton Roads is one of the names of the southeast region of Virginia. I think I'm going to like having this as my home base, but it's awfully humid, even at night. I'm looking forward to my adventures.

Walk in the Park

We all got together this weekend to discuss our travel plans for the coming months and how we are going to document and share our adventures. This picture was taken during a walk in the park, sorry that it looks bad but the tourist we asked to take the picture for us was kind of a weasel, literally.

Girly Scurry - Sample Adventure

Had a great adventure today. I went to visit some friends of mine that live in a house in Washington DC. This room has a weird shape but I think it's kind of important. Someone's office or something. This is a cool house but I'm not that crazy about the dog that lives here.

Girly Scurry - First Arrival

I arrived before any of the others. So far my only journey has been in an envelope and I have just had my picture taken. I'm sure more will happen as the others arrive.
